Fashion with Purpose: Supporting the Georgian Triangle Humane Society
This year, Collingwood Fashion Week is proud to support an organization that has been part of the fabric of our community for more than 25 years: the Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS).
Founded in 1999 through a grassroots effort by local volunteers, the GTHS has grown into an essential community organization serving pets and people throughout South Georgian Bay. Today, the organization welcomes more than 1,500 pets into its care each year while helping thousands more remain safely with the families who love them through accessible veterinary care, pet food assistance, emergency support and other community programs.
But the impact of the GTHS extends far beyond animal rescue.
At the heart of its work is a belief in the powerful connection between pets and people. Through youth programs, volunteer opportunities, community partnerships and services designed to support people and their pets during times of crisis, the GTHS is helping build a more compassionate and connected community.
From Hope to Home
As our region continues to grow, so does the need for these services. The GTHS has outgrown its current facility and is now undertaking the most ambitious fundraising initiative in its history: the From Hope to Home Capital Campaign.
The campaign will support the construction of the new David and Helen Capin Regional Centre for Pets and People , a 19,200 square foot facility on five acres of land in Collingwood.
More than a new animal shelter, the Regional Centre is being designed as a community hub where animals can find safety and compassionate care, families can access essential services, youth can learn and connect, seniors can find purpose, and community members can participate through employment and volunteer opportunities.
It is an investment in the future of animal welfare in South Georgian Bay and in the people whose lives are made better through their connection with animals.
Collingwood Fashion Week Gives Back
Collingwood Fashion Week celebrates creativity, community and everything that makes Downtown Collingwood such a special place. In 2026, we are proud to use that celebration to help support the next chapter of the Georgian Triangle Humane Society.
Proceeds from Collingwood Fashion Week will support the GTHS Regional Centre for Pets & People and help build a new home for pets, people and our community.
